Answer these questions by writing a comment to this post. Try to answer all four questions:
1. What is a hero?
2. How do everyday people become heroes?
3. How have your ideas about heroes changed during this expedition?
4. What was one memorable part of this expedition? What did you find most interesting, exciting, or intriguing?
A hero is a person who does something no one woould even think about doing. An everyday person could be a hero by giving food to the poor or by buying something from someone who will give the money to a good cause. My ideas have not changed in the slightest. The most memorable part was researching about the hero I chose. I found looking and learning at other people’s heroes intresting.
a hero someone who sacrifice something for you and help the world to be better place to live
A hero is a person who helps a person in need and dosen’ sit there and complaine about it. They do it without being asked to they do it out of the kindness of his/ her heart. They do something heroic such as help somebady and they don’t have to be asked to do it. My opinion of a hero is the same as it was in the begining. The funnest thing about this expidition was the final product and seeing all of the tri-folds done and seeing how much effort we all put into them and seeing that we worked so hard to get them done on the deadline.
I think that a hero is somebody who attemps to make a difference and makes sacrifices along the way. Everyday people can become heroes by doing things to make changes in the world. A person can be a hero even if they arnt famous or wellknown. A hero can be a person in your family that is a doctor or a well known person like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. My ideas of a hero havnt really changed from this expidition, but i did learn a lot about many different people and what they have done. One memorable part of this expidition for me was looking at Phil Borges photography and learning about the people that he photographed. One thing i wish we had done on this expidition was to look at other peoples boards. I learned about a few of my friends heroes, but i would have liked to walk around and learn about lots of different wonderful people.
A hero is a person who helps out with anything, everyone has their own heroes
They help out in the comunity and do stuff.
They have changed how i think of a hero and how people become heroes.
I liked studying about my hero because he was really cool to me and alot of other people.

A hero is someone who stands up for what they believe in, no matter the consequences. Everyday people can becomes heroes by doing exactly what I just said. My ideas have not changed during this expadition. I think working on the timeline was the best part, learning what happened in certain years.
A hero is someone who stands up for what they believe in and works hard for their dreams and goals.
Anyone can be a hero as long as they do something that inspires someone else or helps someone in some way.
My ideas haven’t changed, but it felt as if the people we thought were heroes weren’t always excepted just because someone else didn’t think they were a hero. That’s not the point of this expedition; it was to figure out for ourselves who we thought was a hero, not someone else.
Finally being done and having the satisfaction of completion was the best part of this expedition.
1. A hero is someone who displays heroic traits. A few herioc traits are; determination, sacrafice and dedication are 3.
2. Everday people become heroes by doing things that makes them a hero in the eyes of the person who thinks their a hero. Like my hero lou gehrig, i see him as a hero because he was dedicated to my favorite team other people might say he isnt a hero but wha the did was significant to me
3. My ideas about heroes have changed during this expedition because before when i heard hero i thought of like Superman or Spiderman you know what i mean? a super hero but now when i hear hero i think of, Coretta Scott King, Ruby Bridges, Ernest Green, Fredrick Douglass, Paul Rusesbagina, Desmond Tutu, Nelson Mandela, Che Guevara, Anne Frank, Oskar Schindler and all of my other classmates heros.
4. The most memorable part of this expedition was working on the trifolds. This was my favorite part because it was fun sharing ideas with my classmates.
1. A hero is someone who is capable of having the qualities that someone likes, for example, bravery, loyality, and courage. Those were the qualities of my hero and I think that they are important qualities for a hero to have.
2. A person can become a hero if someone think they are. You don’t have to follow the sterotype and do some big thing or be well known. There can be town heroes or heroes of a community. Youdon’t have do do something good for all human kind to be a hero.
3. My idea of a hero has not changed much. I did say that you have to do something good, but over the expedition I have changed that part of my opinion.
4. The most memorable part of this expedition would have to be the end of it. Being able to show someone other than classmates was really fun in my opinion.
A hero is someone who helps others and does not worry about themselves as much. They help do what is right and help the people in their community or even bigger than that.
Anyone could become a hero if they tried to fix something that needs fixing or they help people who need help. Also if they make a difference in the community.
My ideas about heros have changed maybe a little but I always thought heros we all the things I think they are now.
The most memorable part of this expedition was I thought the tri-folds, because they were fun to make and learning all that cool stuff about your hero was cool. Also the event where we were interviewed was not too bad either.
1. A hero is someone who stand up for their rights. I also think that heroes are people who cares about others and help others out.
2. I think everyday people are heroes to their families. I also think that they are heroes that help others that need it if they have no where to go.
3. My idea of a hero hasn’t really changed because duing our expedition, we learned that the heroes we looked up were the heroes we’ve mostly discribed as a hero. Also, that people can change the world in many ways like other heroes did.
4. The most memorable part of doing this expedition was have other people look at all the work we’ve done on our projects. I also thought that before they came, we would be able to talk to our friends in the room and have fun.
people became a hero by help other and give something to someone that’s who need, my ideas have not changed about what a hero is, everything what I reach was interest I really liked everything about my hero, I learned a lot stuff that I did know
1) A hero is someone that is selfless, courageus, persestent and others quilities like these.
2) Any one can become a hero all they have to is something heroic or say something heroic and back it up.
3) My Ideas about what a hero is have not change at all.
4) One thing I remember about the expedition is the colmanating event.

A hero is some one who does somthing to help the world or evan a single person in a greater way than the average man. An everyday person can become a hero by doing just that. Befor i used to think that heroes were just some one famouse, or rich, but now I know what a hero really is. The most memorable part of this expedition is the colamating event, were we diddnt have to do anythin, exept sit and talk ot our friends. The most intresting hting about this expedition was looking at other peoples tri folds, and seeing what they did. Over all this expedition was ok, not the best, but it wasnt the worst.

A hero is a person who helps others and do the right thing and people can remmber that person as a hero who helped others.
I think that a hero doesn’t have to be somebody famous, it’s someone you can look up to and someone who trys to make a difference. Male or female, black or white, or any race. As long as the hero trys hard and work for what they have started, and never gives up. Okay bye =)
I think that a heroe has to do something to the world and the community. Someone to look up too and be there for you all the time.
a hero is a person who helps out to make life easier for others
an ordinary person can become a hero by doing something heroic such as help somebady and they don’t have to be asked to do it.
My Ideas about what a hero is have not change at all.
The most memorable part of this expedition was working on the trifolds. This was my favorite part because it was fun sharing ideas.
A hero is someone who strives to make a difference in the world. Someone who stands up for what they believe in, and never give up. Also someone who is selfless, determined, deticated, and compassionate. There are many more traits that heroes can have, because not all heroes are the same. An average person can’t just become a hero in one day. A hero isn’t just about doing one good deed, it’s about really wanted to help others and enjoying doing it. My ideas of what a hero is have dramatically changed. When we started this expedition I wasn’t really clear on what a hero is, and I don’t think many people really know what a hero is either. I used to think that a hero was just someone to look up to, that you admire. But now I know that I was looking up to people for the wrong reasons. Now I know what a true hero is. My favorite part of this expedition was putting all of my information together on the tri-fold. I really liked putting everything together because I could see all the work that I had done and I could remember the different reasearch that I did. I really liked this expedition because I learned things that I can use throughout my whole life.
bye[:
A hero is someone that does something above and beyond the call of everyday life. A hero also (usually) makes sacrifices for the greater good. Anyone can be a hero. My ideas about heros really hav’nt changed but have rather been enriched. I think the most memorable experiance was definently the colminating event. We (w8) made tri-folds or displays about our heroes.
Mr. Hill made me post another one to say what was my favorite part of the expidition, uhmmm … I pick making the tri-fold, k?
1) A hero is a person who help other’s and also do the right thing by that people can remember that person as a hero.
2) A hero is a person who help the world to be a better place.
3) A hero is a person who cares about others and fight for the right thing.

A hero is a person who cares about what is right and he/she cares about the people in need rather than himself or herself.Caring about people in need and doing the right thing to solve the propblem. it changed a lot, heroes do great things to show how respectful they are, and how they stand up for what they think is right. The membrobale part of this expedition is learning more about other students heroes. What i found intresting is the heroes i found and learned I never heard of. So this expedition made me learn more about their heroes.
1.) What I think of a hero is, well someone who does good things for all of humanity. My hero helped blacks and young children get to college. 2.) They could do something that could probably change the world and how we live or used to live. For instince Jackie Robinson was an ordinary guy who wanted the same rights as whites. Even though he was just as good or even better than whites, he couldn’t play untill one day Branch Rickey asked Jackie to play in the Major Leagues. 3.) My thoughts on what a hero is hasn’t changed at all.4.) The most memorable thing in this expedition for me was working on the trifolds all day, because everyone was working or helping and people were going crazy. Everyone was in a rush to get it done, that for a quick second I thought their heads were going to explod. I thought the whole expedition was exciting.
A hero is a person who stands up for what they believe in. Even when all odds are aganist them. A person who does something no matter how big or how small and is trying to better the lives of others. Everyday people become heroes by doing something that others wouldn’t dare to. It might be a risk or it could be safe but it doesn’t matter it is really up to the person who is considering the other person to be a hero. My feelings have changed a little when it comes to considering someone to be a hero. Usually when people use to say the word hero I would think of a celebrity of some random cartoon character, but now I know there is a big difference and that is really the opposite. Heros to me don’t really get enough credit and some arn’t really known that well. My favorite part of the expedition was the tri-fold and the presenting part. Those were my favorites because I love doing project be I am creative and It is fun showing off all of your hard work to others that don’t know anything about it.
1. I think a hero is someone that stand up for what they believe, and they somehow made a difference and inspired people, and didn’t give up on what they believed.
2. Anyone can become a hero by show the heroic traits.
3. I don’t think my idea about heroes changed at all. I think that because I thought anyone could be a hero by helping other people out and making a difference.
4. The most interesting part in the expedition was putting all the hard work together on the tri-fold. It was exciting because looking at all the work we’ve done shows that we put a lot of effort into it and knowing that we learned something that’s going to help us.
1. A hero is a person who has helped other people in there world and have worked hard for what they believe in. Heroes are people who you can look up to for what they have done to help save the world. Heroes all have individual ideas of how they can help save the world a they try there best to do just that.
2. Any person can become a hero if they work hard at it. They have to learn to be selfless and to love and always help others. You can be a hero if you have a cause that you are willing to put you whole heart and soul into it. ANd once you have found what you care for and tried as haard as you could to help the things that you have chosen to help than you could be a hero.
3.My ideas haven’t changed to much over the time of this expedition. I still think that even if someone is well known that does not make them a hero and if you are a hero to me you had to have helped lots of people or lots of things to strive longer is a world that they are having trouble living in. Also they still have to be selfless and determind and not only care for themselves but to deeply care for other things too.
4. I think that the most memorable part of this expidtion for me is when i was taking notes on my heroes life and what it was that she had done. And also all of the people that she had helped in her life time and reading about how she died. These are all the things that will stay with me for my life time.
1. A hero is a person who influences someone to do something good. Something ‘good” is defined as what you believe could be helpful. I also believe a hero is a person who does something that you believe in .
2. everyday people can become heroes by being themselves. People can become heroes by accomplishing goals that are for the greater good. And people can become heroes By being a role model and contributing to the community.
3. My ideas have changed a lot. For one I used to think that a hero was someone who was famous and was nice. Now i know that a hero is a person who gives back to the community and the world.
4. The best part of the expedition was when we presented our trifolds to the 7th graders. It was really fun because i realized how much i had learned in a short time. I also enjoyed the research.
Camden.
1 A hero is soomeone how always puts the people in frount of them selves and always looks for the well being of everybod around themselves. A hero doesn’t nesasarly have to have alot og money or be famuos they can be your friend,or yor brother or just their cousin.
2 An average person can be a hero by doing something that will benafit everyone around them. The liittle kids around them can look up them.
123. In my opinoin a hero is someone whos sacrifices something in their life to better others. Im not saying that it is easy to be a hero, but anyone could be one. As mother teresa said, “ If you think you can’t make a difference, try being in a room alone with a misquito.” This shows that everyone one can make a difference and act heroically. That is one thing that I have learned about heros today, that anyone can be one. Though, in my opinion, the termis muh too overused and is used without meaning. Today was very educational, and my idea of what a hero has not changed, but has been reenforced.
4. I think this was a great expedition. My favorite part was seeing mine done and relaxing. Also, it was very intruiging seeing everyone elses tri-folds.
1. What is a hero?
I think a hero is someone who always works towards a particular goal (or goals) and can not be stopped. This goal is usually beneficial to others, but this isn’t a rule or anything. As long as they aren’t killing people I think almost any goal is fine.
2. How do everyday people become heroes?
Everyday people can become heroes by realizing their goals and working towards them without giving up.
3. How have your ideas about heroes changed during this expedition?
My ideas about heroes haven’t changed much, but I know now that nearly everyone is a hero in their own way.
4. What was one memorable part of this expedition? What did you find most interesting, exciting, or intriguing?
The most interesting and intriguing part of the expedition was definitely the research and timeline. The most exciting part was doing the display boards (because we had limited time and were also up and about presenting them). I didn’t really have a favorite part of the expedition, the entire thing was pretty nice.

P.S. I wholeheartedly agree with Katie’s comment, except for the part about following their leader. It’s good to rebel against the leader sometimes, y’know? (Her comment is below go look at it!)
1.a hero is someone who faces life with courage and does not live in fear. (It does not mean that they don’t take caution) They serve their leader with loyalty and is willing to risk their lives for their community.
2.everyday people can become heroes by doing what they love, and never backing down. We all have problems in this life, some run away or blame others, but their are some who face the facts and get through it. Those are the heroes.
3. At the beginning of this expidition I thought that a hero was just some one who did good things. Now I know that heroes are picked for what they meen to the people choosing them. It also broadend my horizen on what a hero has to do to become a hero in my eyes.
4.The best part by far was the culminating event. We all joked around and had fun, but it was also nice to share my new found information with the world and tell every one that doesn’t know who Mary Read is why she is my hero.

1.what i think a hero is some one who helps the community and there family but always put everyone else before him or her self.
2.the way that i think that every day people become heros is that they help everyone else no matter what is happening to them or what is going to happen. Also that they try to help not only people but animals.
3.the way that my thought of a hero have changed was that befor i thought that a hero was someone that only helped their family and noone else but know i think that a hero helps everyone and everything
4.one memorable part of the expedition was finally putting it all together what i found most interesting while doing my research was that my hero didnt just help her family she helped hundreds of people and then some.
1. A hero is someone who wants to make a difference in peoples lives and communities.
2. An everyday person becomes a hero by doing something that will not only benifit them, but also the people and area around them. It doesn’t have to be stopping a vilian that’s robbing a bank like in the movies. It can be something small, like saving a kitten that is stuck in a tree. Just as long as you fell good about what you did.
3. My idea of a hero has basically stayed the same. I have just learned more about how peoples opinions on a hero are way different.
4. The most memorable part of the expedition was the whole thing. This was my first expedition and it was all a good experience. Of course there was a lot of work, but it all paid off in the end.
I think a hero is someone who helps the community, or even just some one person in need, and makes it better. Anyone can become a hero just by helping someone else. I used to think that a hero had to do something life-threatening and dangerous thing, like a firefighter in 9/11. But what I didn’t know is that you can do something small to be a hero. I think one of my favorite parts of this expedition on heroes was actually displaying my presentation. Writing and building the tri-fold was really fun, but when people from other parts of the school, some of which I didn’t even know, started looking at it and taking down notes on it, it felt really satisfying.
- A hero is somebody who can change something from bad to good. They can also be someone who reveals the truth to something, or beat the odds and do the impossible.
- Everyday people shouldn’t have to try to become heroes. They should just go on what they were doing because if try to be a hero it just doesn’t work. They should stand up for what they would like to see happen and try to make things better for everyone.
-My ideas haven’t chaged that much but I have just learned that people translate the word hero in different ways, which is good.
-The most memrable part of this expedition was making the trifolds because you got to be creative with how you represented your hero and you could have a little more freedom in what you did. I did also like seeing everyone’s hero on the wiki and then seeing they’re trifolds. Since my hero was in my family i also liked doing the research with my grandma because she always talk about her so now I know more.

1. A hero to me is a person who has done something meaningful and is responsible. A person who you can look up to as a role model. A hero is also someone who you can trust and has change the way you look at things.
2. It isn’t very hard to become a hero. To become a hero you could do something to help your community. You should be responsible and truthful. Someone who does what they think is right for others.
3. My idea of a hero hasn’t completely changed. What I have found out is that a hero should be a person who is selfless and gives back to their community. Someone who really is a role model.
4. I really enjoyed this expedition! Before this expedition I had never really thought about who my hero would be and what kind of person could be a hero. We learned how to research in a small amount of time and to set up a tirfold. It was exciting to find out all this information about Paul Rusesabagina. It was also nice to see other peoples heroes and what they had to say about their heroes. Everyone showed effort and did their best in making their hero stand out and their trifold to look the best.
Mike,
That you for thinking about the animals. I wonder if animals have the bain capacity to have a hero?
-katie-
1. A hero is a person who, does somthing for the communtiy in some way, a hero doesnt just want to do somthing, she/he does somthing about it. This can help the communtiy in a way that helps its way of thinking or its way of living. A hero is its own person, not what everyone thinks it should be.
2.Everyday people can become heros by joining their community or the world in some way. THe everyday person is going after what he/she thinks is right by her/his morals. Not by what everyones telling them. It may not be in a big HUGE way that a person becomes a hero. It can just be that some one has helped one person and ot a whole bunch of people. BUt know that one person can go out and “spread the word, on what is a hero, add whats right. Now there is a BIG differnce between a hero and a cleb.
3. At first when I thought about heros, i thoguht that the person was perfict instead of human. I changed when I leared somthing about my hero that isnt somthing that a normal person would say was a hero. This has changed my few on what a hero is, just a person that makes mistakes and learns form them. Everyone can learn from their mistakes. Mistakes is whats makes people human.
4. The most memerable part of the whole expedition was learning what it was to be a true hero. That was the best for me because when you learn somthing new, you can stand up for it and tell people what you learnd, kinda of liek what I am doing for my comment. I think that this whole experince was memeorible because there is heros that affect us every day, and we didnt even relize it till now. Now I can say what a hero is in my veiw, and not have people say that i am wrong. I also found it really fun to learn about my perosn Heather Mills. She got me more involved in animal rights and i think that i can stand up for them beter know, and know whats going on in the world that is affecting people when they might not know it.
This has been fun fun fun!!! =)
Well I think that i have learned allot about myself and about who i look at as a hero.
A hero is a person that does stuff for the community of does anything that the person he/she deos and does not expect anything in return that is what i think a hero is to me.
Well there is no specific way that a everyday person can become a hero the person can just do what they have to do in life and does not want other people to think of them as a hero, and this person should just not be too stuck up about what they did and how they did it, they are just happy that you think of them as a hero and they move on with their life, that is my perspective on how a preson can become a hero in their everyday life.
Well when we started this expaditioon, i thought that we would be talking about heroes as in fictional characters, but we talked about what real life person is your hero in your eyes . My idear of a hero has really changed becaus i thought that a hero was someone that you just looked at and though of as a hero. But then my perspective changed on a hero, I then thought that a hero is someone who does stuff and does not ask for anything in return, weather it is savig a life or millions, or even doing something for the community or even the world . There where alot of memorable things that i remember but the thing that hit me the most was, at the begginig of the expadition when all of the teachers said their heroes, and that was really memorible because the whole weekend i was thinking about that. Then i loved when Mr. Shuttleworth came and shared his knoledge about his heroes, That was really cool. I really liked this expaditon and i hope that this will keep going on , so you can get some other children to think about this as we did.
1. A hero is someone that has bravery and is not afraid to show what they think to make a difference. To people who make these differences isn’t afraid of punishment or consequences.
2. To help others, think about the future, how to develop it, to change. Try to help others gain to yourself. To change something you’d not need to use physical strength, but to give and opinion, give it with great feelings and not to give up at any moment until you are most satisfied, until your ambitions are accomplished.
3. My idea of a hero doesn’t change, but maybe added a little more. I think that the hero doesn’t have to be ranked by rich or poor. During the expedition I could see different kinds of people with different kinds of achievement. They have been through many situations and and encounters to reach their goal.
4. The memorable part of the expedition is making the tri-fold because with a lot of experiance and digging through information we get to put things togeather and make it a complete history of our hero. Also, with the 6 and 7 graders coming in and asking us question, helped us what we should know.
1. I believe that a heroe is someone who never gives up on what they believe in and they’re always willing to follow their dreams. Not only that but most of them are selfless and cares for others as much as they care for themselves. Someone who’s always willing to make a change in the world and make many differences in life is also a hero. You don’t need to be famous or well known because you’re a hero in someone else’s life and in your own way.
2. I don’t think you have to do something mayjor that everyones impressed with, but helping one another is always a way of becoming a hero to someone. You shouldn’t have to pretend to be someone your not to be a hero, being yourself is the important thing. Always will to help each other, being selfless is an important thing, but most of all go for what you believe in and never give up hope.
3. My meaning and beliefs of a hero didn’t change so much over the expedition. But with more research my defintion of one has changed because the more and more I learn the more I understand about who and what hero is because there’s no need to stand out for everyone and you don’t need to be famous. Just be yourself and do what you believe in and what’s best and always try and help. You don’t even need too be smart. Helen Keller was blind and deaf and she was able to make a difference and she never gave up hope. Just do what you want but be careful with the decisions you make, for instance someone out there like Algor is trying to save or environment and thats some what of a hero. You just have to believe in what you want and never give up.
4. During this expedition I learn a lot after researching about other people out there that has helped everyone else in the world. I thought the most memorable part was making the trifold, presenting them, and also having a artist comew in to talk to us about eh book he made about heroes. Even though it was a lot of hard work I got through it and accomplished everything that was needed to be done. But most of all it was fun, even though we were in a lot of rush because it’s the end of the year.
I BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE OF YOU IS A HERO!!!

Mike,
That you for thinking about the animals. I wonder if animals have the bain capacity to have a hero?”
-katie-
Wouldn’t you think their heroes would be the ones who try to break out of the house/barn/wherever their staying? Or do you think they just don’t find the need to have a hero?
-Kate
A hero is a person that helps people who need help, directly or indirectly. (Directly being something along the lines of giving a homeless person a sandwich. Indirectly being something along the lines of advocating a new homeless shelter. Of course, it’d be on a much larger scale.) Everyday people can become heroes by doing something outstanding inside their immediate community. (Something of that sort could be giving provisions to the neighbors during a particualry bad storm.) My thoughts on heroes have not changed. I have always thought of a hero as someone who helps others, and that can be anyone. The most memorable part would be the presentation to the seventh graders. Although, I thought the most intriguing would be researching the heroes, since there were many funny stories ad other things associated with the biography.
1. I think a hero is someone who stands up for what they believe in and does what is right, even if the people around them say it is wrong. A hero could also be someone who overcomes obstacles to do something great. The way I explained the word hero in my project was “a person who can live through something challenging and come out the other side a stronger and better person.” Having heroic qualities like bravery or conviction isn’t enough, a person must also have compassion. A brave person could do terrible things, but they would just be brave, they wouldn’t be a hero.
2. My belief is that everyday people can become heroes by overcoming challenges or by standing up for what they know is right. Again, they must also care for other people and give back to their community. There are a lot of heroes in the world today, but most of them don’t end up in books.
3. I use to think that if a person just stood up for what they believed in they were a hero. Or if they beat obstacles they were a hero. Now I know that a person must have compassion and not just care about themselves or a select group of people. They should not hate or use violence to get what they want, unless it is in self-defense.
4. The best part of the expedition, for me, was the culminating event. This was my favorite part because not only did we get to present our hero to the rest of our house and the seventh graders, but we got to learn about other people’s heroes.

The only problem I found with our expedition, was the choice of heroes. According to some of the choices, I would be considered one. I am pretty shure I am not a hero, and no one thinks I am. This is another case of overusing the term hero without meaning. Some of the heros hardly contributed at all, if any. I volunteer at prebble street on sunday morning from 6:30 – 10:00. That is more than some of the people we chose have done, and there is no way I am a hero. Just thinking out loud~
théo
A hero is somebody that loves his or her community and does things for it. if you don’t throw things on the ground when you are eating something and so on.
To become a hero you have to be good throw your trash away, you can help people that need help putting their things away after shopping but most important you should always keep your enviorment clean for the safety of yourself and others.
I think that the people that pick famous people think just because they make a lot of money is why their heros. Money isn’t everything that makes them a hero it is what they do for their community thats what makes a famous person a hero just like oprah she always been a hero and building that school made her a bigger hero. oh and I like the expedition.

1. What is a hero?
A hero is someone who sacrifices something for other people, works for civil rights, peace, and/or moral values, or someone who outlives the normal expectancy of the normal person.
2. How do everyday people become heroes?
By using their powers of freedom to work for other people or donating to charity or helping someone fix a problem. Or possibly helping someone in need. Everyone has the potential to do good.
3. How have your ideas about heroes changed during this expedition?
My views haven’t changed at all. I’ve always believed that a hero is someone who helps others, no matter what the cost. Also, I still believe that anyone can become a hero or do heroic acts.
4. What was one memorable part of this expedition? What did you find most interesting, exciting, or intriguing?
Probably the culminating event where we had the chance of presenting our heroes to the little ones. Their views and beliefs were interesting to learn, somewhat, from the end.
A hero is a person who takes it apon themselfs to help people in need. They are not selfish and don’t care if they don’t receive anything back. A hero is also a person who sticks up for themselfs and other people. They don’t care about what other people have to say about them. An everyday person can be a hero by sticking up for what they believe in and try to make a difference for the sociaty. My idea about who a hero is has changed. Now, I know that a hero can be a regular person trying to make a diffence instead of someone famous. My favorite part of this expedition was when we got to see everybodys board when it was done and talk about what everone learned about. Also, my other favorite part was when the artist, Robert shetterly, came to our school and talked to us about his book. Im glad we didi this expedition.thanks=]
1. A hero is somebody who think about others before themselfs. And gives to the community and helps people.
2. Everyday people can become a hero by showing that they care and being helpful. You don’t have to be rich and famous to become a hero. Everyday people show bravery and help others without having to be wealthy. You don’t have to have money to save someones life. For example my hero ernest green was a normal boy but decided to take a risk and look at him today.
3. At the begining of the expidition I thought i was going to do a celebrity because i thought most celebritys were the heros but thats not ture anybody can be a hero, there just not recognized as much as a singer or actor.
4. The most exciting part of this expidition was the kick off. It was fun seeing who other people thought were heros. And It was fun listening to why they are heros and learning things about what makes a person a hero.
1.A hero is a person who has made a difference in people’s lives in a positive way, and who has influenced other people to make a difference.
2.Everyday people become heroes by being strong in times of weakness, when they help those who need help, and when they can jump over mental or physical hurdles and warm to the task at hand. Everybody has the oppertunity to be a hero, it’s just the option of how he/she uses this option.
3.At first, I was in the mindset that well known people were heroes, and that you had to be famous to be a hero. I now know that anybody can be a hero, and you don’t have to be well known to be one. You have to do great things, and have the right mindset to do them in the right instances.
4.The two best parts of this expedition for me were my research and the artist visit. My research consisted of a personal interview with my hero, and so I got the full story of one man’s life from the man himself. The artist visit was so awesome. Mr.Shetterly was very opinionated, and you got to really hear his side of things and his story as to why he painted the portraits, and his views on press and governmental issues. IT…WAS…SO…AWESOME!
To me a hero is a person that could be an inspiration to others. A role model. Someone that people can look up to, to do the write thing and know that they won’t do something bad. A hero is not just someone like Superman that you see flying through the sky saving people from a buring building, or a cat from a tree. They are people that we encounter everyday in our lives.
People can become heroes just by the way they act and what there actions turn out to be. Rosa Parks became a hero just because she didnt want to move her seat on the bus, she was tired and had, had a long day at work. Many heroes tend to help others and take a minute to care.
My aspect of heroes has changed because for a long time, (not knowing better) I always thought that heroes were the ones like Superman, who you only saw on t.v or who had secret identities. I know better now.
The one memorable thing in this expedition for me was being able to look back and see how many different heroes are out there. Heck we only reconized 70, but there are so many more! Regular people that go unreconized everyday just because they are humble and don’t need to publicsize their acomplishments. I want to take more time to find out about these heroes, the ones that go unreconized. Are you interested?
A hero to me is someone who stands up for their rights. Or is someone who inspires other people to do good things. A hero has to have qualities like courage and compassion.
They must be dedicated to their cause. Everyday people can become heroes by helping others or doing the things I wrote about above.
My ideas of a hero have not changed a lot since the begining of this expedition.
The best part of the expedition for me was presenting our final products to the rest of our school. I liked it because I got to share things about my hero and learn a lot of new things about other peoples heros.
1. I think a hero is someone that stands up for what they belive in and i also think that a hero is someone that dose the right thing for the right reason.
2. Everyday people can become heroes because they do the right thing and also because they care about what they do.
3. Well i think my idea of heroes has not changed because i always thought a hero was someone that stands up for what they belived in and is someone that is always doing the right thing. And I stil think thats what a hero is.
4. One memorable part about this expedition was when people can around and asked us questions about our hero and why did we chose that person. I also thought it was intrersting that Mr. Shetterly came and talked to us about his book “Americans who tell the truth”. This was a very intersting expedition. =]
1- A hero is someone who stands up for what they beleave in, fights for there country, and beleaves in themselves!
2- By beleaving in what they are, who they are and just being themselves in evey way possable!
3- they changed becasue i throught that a heroe is someone that you know, but it’s not just someone you know it’s also someone thats a compleat stanger to you or it could be your next store neighbor, or the guy down the street, or the store owner? But a hero dose not have to be someone you know!
4- One memorable part of this expadtion was for me when we get to show what we have learned and put it on a tryforld, then we showed it to everyone! What i founed most interesting is that we got to talk call time off and learn about who these people are and it was cool to see what other poeple pick and what they learned for there heros!
1. What is a hero?
A hero is a person that gives to his/her community throughout whatever it may be. Money, food, police whatever.
2. How do everyday people become heroes?
Everyday people have become hero’s just by caring about their surroundinngs or others surroundings.
3. How have your ideas about heroes changed during this expedition?
I have relized that a hero can be bad, a hero just needs to be able to speak their mind and stand up for their rights.
4. What was one memorable part of this expedition? What did you find most interesting, exciting, or intriguing?
I liked the presenting of the trifolds because that was an enjoyable process.
1. I think a hero is someone whos stands up for what is right and does not give up on his/herslef even though other people do.
2. Everyday people become heros by not giveign up on themslef even if they are struggeling, and they stnad up for what is right. And over come they challenges.
3. My ideas changed because now I understand that any one can be a hero. Anyone that speakes they’er mind.

1. I think a hero is someone who fights for what they believe in no matter what other peole might think.Who trys to make a world a better place and went through a lot of challenges to get there. Heroes can also be anyone. It can be you, me even our familys and friends.
2. People can become heroes in all sorts of ways. They can save someones life, help someone out in need, or just be yourself. Also standing up for your belief.
3. My idea’s about heroes havent really changed that much. But i have learned a lot of new heroes while doing this expedition.
4. The most memoral thing that i will remember was that it was a lot of research. It was fun doing this expedition.=)
1. I think a hero is someone who fights for what they think is right and never give up. I also think a hero is someone who has bravery, compassion, determination, courage, and dedication.
2. An everyday person can become a hero by making a difference and standing up for their beleifs.
3. My opinions about heroes didn’t change after doing this expedition but they did increase. What I mean by that is that after researching my hero and hearing about other peoples heroes it made me think more about what a hero is so now I just have more reasons of what I think a hero is.
4. The most memorable part of this expedition for me was making the trifolds. I think that because you got to have fun and be creative .
bye!
A hero to me is someone who is selfless, has perseverance, and is determined. I think a hero is someone who trys to make a difference in the world and enjoys doing so. I dont think that everyday people can randomly just think oh I want to be a hero and they are I think that its something that you would have to gradually work on. I think everyday people would have to start by learning how to put others before themselves, trying to focus on their goals and never giving up on what they believe. My ideas of a hero has changed dramitically since the beginning of the expedition. When Mr. Gervais first told me that we were going to do an expedtion about our heros I thought Jennifer Lopez or Mark Whalberg but later on in the expedition I learned that its not about famous people that you like or think is super hot I learned that its what you do to try to make our world a better place . I really liked putting the all the papers on the trifold and decorating it . I also liked finishing it and seeing how it looked.

Salutations former King goers, this is Kate.
As said in previous messages from other students, I also will return to visit King, but unfortunately next year I will only see those of you who have chosen Casco Bay as your high school.
To those of you I won’t be seeing: have a great summer/rest of you’re life, y’all.
To those of you I will be seeing next year: see you then.
Adios mis amigos.
